SANZAAR has confirmed a home-and-away format for 2026, with the Springboks hosting New Zealand at Ellis Park and Cape Town Stadium. / The Guardian / Photography
The Springboks will play the All Blacks four times in 2026 under an expanded Rugby Championship format announced by SANZAAR today.
The new structure, designed to capitalize on the commercial success of the rivalry, will see the teams meet at Ellis Park in Johannesburg and Cape Town Stadium in August, with return fixtures in New Zealand during September.
Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus welcomed the expanded fixture list, noting that it provides additional preparation time ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. The Boks have won six of the last eight encounters between the sides.
